This weekend, Daxon met up with some friends from the mission to hang out and have a good time. Since Daxon was a Farsi-speaking Elder, he was with the same companions, in the same areas, his entire mission. He developed what I believe will be lifelong friendships with these companions.
Dax had an excellent weekend, and had this story to tell when he returned. He and some of his mission friends were swinging out into the lake on a rope swing when Daxon noticed his Apple watch was gone. The lake was about 20 feet deep and murky where they were jumping and Daxon resigned himself to the idea that finding his watch was a lost cause. Obviously, he was a little discouraged about it. One of Daxon's friends, "Elder" Davis mentioned to the three of them who were in the water, "if we say a prayer and take turns diving down I bet we can find your watch." Davis suggested to Dax that he would dive down and come up with the watch in hand if they said a prayer. The three of them said a prayer and Davis dove down, but came up empty-handed. Then Natalie dove down, but never made it to the bottom. It was Daxon's turn and he mentioned that as he was swimming to the bottom he felt like he was never going to get to the bottom and wanted to just give up. As he reached the bottom of the lake, he moved his hands back and forth and there it was, the watch. Dax grabbed it and returned to the top where cheers of excitement expounded all around. I love this story for MILLIONS of reasons and it makes my heart extremely happy . I love the example it gives of faith, testimony and of answered prayers.
Funny side note. . . one of our friends from Iowa, Jake Thomas, was at the party Daxon went to. What a small world it is.
Daxon is LOVING his motorcycle.
