BEAUTIFUL NAUVOO

This summer after Daxon left to Canada, on his mission, we were all
feeling a little lost.  We decided to
leave on Sunday after church and go to Nauvoo. JD did not need to return to work until Thursday. We decided to stay in Nauvoo until Wednesday.  Going home would just make us miss Daxon again:).
As always, Nauvoo did not disappoint.
We were able to take in all the shows that we typically skip.
Ashlynn ADORES the missionaries in Nauvoo.
She is determined, she will be one of them!
I keep thinking one of these years Ashlynn will be too old to want to participate in the,
Sunset on the Mississippi parade.
It has not happened yet.
 I am thankful:).
Just look at that smile!
This year following the parade,
Ashlynn was beyond excited and shouting,
"Hank Smith is here"!

We were all very excited to find out she was correct.

He was kind enough to let us all take a picture with him.

This year we were able to participate
in the Trail of tears program.
It ends here at the Grand Mississippi.

We loved it!

It took FOREVER to get these two away from these
 adorable new baby calves.
Ashlynn and Britton still love the pioneer games area.
For this I am thankful, these kiddos are growing up way too quickly!
I do not enjoy camping much anymore.
  Nauvoo is the exception.

One of our favorite traditions each year is camping in a
tent, in Nauvoo State park.

My favorite time to visit Nauvoo is during the Pageant.
I love the simpleness of life while we are in Nauvoo. I am thankful that my children enjoy doing things that are old fashion and they seem to enjoy it.  I am sure if we were anywhere but Nauvoo, this would not be the case.

I am thankful for the spirit that can be
felt the entire time we are in Nauvoo.

I am thankful for the adorable friend Ashlynn met this year.
They had a great time in camp and at the festivale.

I feel it is a great blessing to be able
to take advantage of this beautiful event. I am thankful
I live close enough to take part in it!
