Yesterday we received a message that the kids
would not be going back to school until at least May 1st.
Ashlynn was a little distraught over the fact. Shortly after the no school notice an
e-mail arrived informing the students of a parade today at 11:30 AM.
The teachers were missing the students and wanted to say hi.
Teachers are ROCKSTARS. I love this gesture
of love they provided to all of their students!
Homeschooling is going very well, thanks to the teacher
who provides a perfect outline. I find I need to check every so often to make sure Ashlynn hasn't been sidetracked and started watching slime videos. When I checked on her today, she was doing yoga stretches. I asked, "What are you doing?" She responded, "it is in the daily schedule to stretch, we stretch at school." I love that!
Our neighbor has horses and they are quickly becoming
best friends with Ashlynn.
Is it okay to not social distance with horses?
JD's sister was coming this way today. We were going to have her bring Britton back with her. When it comes to parenting, Jd and I have NEVER been great at sticking to our guns. We say something in the moment, but when the moment changes we change our mind:).
Britton stayed with his cousin one more day. I think it was the
best decision. I have received more notifications for assignments
handed in for him today then even before.
My sister-in-law sent me this picture in a text that read, "They are being so studious."
This quote made me truly happy today. At times I get anxious thinking that
I am not doing this at-home thing correctly. One day I have a schedule, one day I do not. One day I plan very well, one day the electronics win. I read this quote today and the feeling came
to me, "You love your kids and together you are all willing to try and do your best each day."
That looks different each day for us, but for now it is enough!
