We have all been social distancing for about a week.
Yesterday when my older children and dad asked if
I was too worried about the virus for them to come and
visit, the answer was a big FAT NO! We were excited to have company,
in small numbers, of course. A funny video is going around on the internet about what people are going to be doing to stay busy. The lady responds, make soup,
bread and get fat and sassy. It sounded like a great idea.
That is exactly what we did:).
Many cornhole games were played.
Our sweet ministering family stopped by and brought this
to me for my birthday. Everyday I feel
blessed by the privilege to have such wonderful people in my life.
JD opened the pool to see how much work it was going to be to get it up and running this year. All of the sudden Britton jumps in just to see how it would feel.
My dad offered Riley and Ashlynn money and they decided to follow along. They all claimed it was FREEZING and it took a minute for each of them to catch their breath.

The rest the afternoon was filled with visiting and card games. I love these kind of days.
With all the social distancing our family has needed to adapt in many ways. I love the book by Viktor Frankl, Mans search for Meaning. He points out in this book the importance of realizing the situation you are in, understand you can't control it, yet find purpose and meaning in it. I find that giving every day a purpose is often the key to daily happiness.
I read on Deseret News today that pandemics and terrorists have much in common:Their advantage lies in fear. I am unsure of the exact wording for this next part. President Hinckley was asked one time how he remains so optimistic and positive in all situations. His response was it's easy, we know how this all turns out, the end has already been determined. I am thankful that as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we know we do not need to have fear. Everything works out in the end, if it hasn't worked out it's not the end. I think Hinckley also said that.
