COVID-19 Day 29 Time is a gift

Alyssa was taking Luke to the doctor today for his 2 week check-up.
I have extra time these days, and am thankful for any excuse to
see the baby so I was happy to drive her.
That way her husband could take the car to work.
JD did not want to be left out so he came also and
helped Riley with some school things.
When we arrived to pick up Alyssa, you would have never believed this beautiful girl just had a baby. Her dishwasher was running, her and her baby looked adorable. She was in the cutest outfit, her makeup was on, and she was acting like a complete pro.
Since the day Alyssa was born she has been a helper. When I look back at my journals, they brag on and on about how Alyssa is the biggest helper with her siblings. She was born to be a momma!
When Ashlynn found out we were planning to go,
she was not about to let us go without her.
At first we were planning to leave her home to do homework, she assured us that she would get it finished as soon as we returned home. Since time these days is a
gift we seem to have PLENTY of, we agreed.
She loved being able to go and have Luke to herself.
We didn't think he could get any cuter, but over the Easter weekend somehow he did.
From the second Alyssa delivered Luke she has commented numerous times, "he is so perfect, I can't believe he is mine."
Alyssa was helping Ashlynn with Luke today, as I was watching them I was overcome with emotion. The thought came to me, "they are perfect, I can't believe they are mine."

It is a beautiful thing watching your daughter be a new mom!

JD spent the afternoon doing yard work.
As long as Britton was able to use a machete, he
was willing to help chop down weeds.
In this yard, the work is never truly finished.
JD loves having the time to do it!

I have loved this series for the last 8 years. The past few years, I have not had much time to watch it.
A positive to quarantine is having time to catch up on the episodes.
Tonight we also played rummikub, and I won as usual. The more our family plays games, the more it becomes apparent that we are all very competitive. Losing is not something we do well. We may need to have a lesson on how to exemplify better sportsmanship!
